Following this introduction, I share stories from the approach of the 1900s up to the present day, reflecting on people's experiences during different seasons—including some of my own—accompanied by photographers’ work so readers can truly feel the essence of Yosemite. The book highlights the summer months when visitors venture into Yosemite’s high country before the snows make access impossible. For most, this offers a unique perspective of Yosemite rarely seen by typical visitors. It serves as a map of discovery that may inspire some readers to embark on their own journeys. The poetic expressions encourage even screen-time enthusiasts to look beyond selfies and appreciate the natural symphony unfolding around them—something found nowhere else in the world.
